Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) are aircraft without an occupant, built in fixed-wing or rotary-wing configurations and flown remotely, autonomously, or under tether.

UAVs take on work that is dangerous or costly for crewed aircraft: search and rescue, surveillance and reconnaissance, aerial imaging, crop spraying, infrastructure inspection, package delivery, and expendable strike roles.

Composite structures provide airframes with high stiffness-to-weight ratios for endurance and payload. Complex aerodynamic surfaces can be molded as a single part.

Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) are vehicles without an occupant that operate over terrain on wheels, tracks, or legs, controlled remotely, autonomously, or through a hybrid of both.

UGVs handle work that is dangerous, unpleasant, or repetitive: cargo transport, reconnaissance, munitions disposal, hazardous material handling, confined-space inspection, agricultural monitoring, infantry support, and expendable detonating roles.

Composite structures keep the platform light for increased capacity and lower suspension loading without surrendering the impact and abrasion resistance ground vehicles demand.

Unmanned Marine Vehicles

Unmanned marine vehicles operate on or below the water without an occupant. Driven by propeller or waterjet, Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) are boat-like hulls while Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs) are typically free-flooded structures with electronics and select payload in sealed housings.

Both are controlled remotely, autonomously, or through a hybrid system, serving oceanic research, harbor patrol, mine countermeasures, cable and seafloor inspection, search and rescue, surveillance, and expendable naval roles.

Composite structures give surface hulls slamming and fatigue resistance, and flooded hulls hydrodynamic form. Both benefit from a manageable signature and excellent corrosion resistance.
