Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Unmanned Aerial Vehicled (UAVs) are aircraft without an occupant, built in fixed-wing or rotary-wing configurations and flown remotely, autonomously, or under tether. UAVs take on work that is dangerous or costly for crewed aircraft: search and rescue, surveillance and reconnaissance, aerial imaging, crop spraying, infrastructure inspection, package delivery, and expendable strike roles. Composite structures provide airframes with high stiffness-to-weight ratios for endurance and payload. Complex aerodynamic surfaces can be molded as a single part.
